Add a product

A new product starts on one short screen: its name, what kind it is and its price. Marketsy saves it as a draft that only you can see. Then you add pictures and what customers get, and publish it.

Create the draft

1. In your admin, go to Products → All products and click Add product.
2. Type a Name.
3. Under What are you selling?, pick a kind.
4. Enter a Price. 0 makes it free.
5. Choose how often it's Charged: Once, Every day, Every week, Every month, Every 3 months or Every year. Anything but Once makes it a subscription.
6. Click Create draft. The product editor opens on your new draft.

Kinds of products

Next to Or a specific kind: you can pick E-book, Notion template, Design assets, Video and audio, Service or Licence keys or codes. These work like a download, and the editor suggests the likeliest way to deliver them first. Licence keys or codes opens with keys already turned on.

Let AI draft it

Click Or let AI draft it · 2 credits instead of Create draft. AI writes the description and makes a cover picture from the name. It may adjust the name, and it puts the product in one of your categories when one fits. For a course, it also drafts sections and lessons.

This uses AI credits. If you have fewer than 2 credits, Marketsy asks you to get more first. You can change everything AI writes.

What a draft needs before it can go live

A product needs a name, a picture and a price. A course also needs at least one lesson. The editor shows what's missing; see Edit a product. On the products list, such a draft shows Missing: and Finish setup.

Bring products from another platform

Send us your export and the Marketsy team adds the products for you.

1. On the products list, click Import CSV. On a phone, it's in the ⋯ menu.
2. Under Where are your products now?, pick Shopify or Another platform, or my own CSV.
3. Choose a CSV or Excel file under 5 MB.
4. Click Send for import.

We add the products to your store as drafts within one working day. Check each one, then publish it.
