Connect Stripe so buyers can pay by card and with the wallets you turn on in Stripe, like Apple Pay and Google Pay. It takes about 3 minutes. Stripe can then take a few hours to verify you. Stripe is also the only way to sell memberships and subscriptions.

Connect your Stripe account

  1. In your admin, go to Settings → Payments. While you set up, you can also click Connect Stripe on your Home page.
  2. Under Connect your Stripe account, pick the country your business is in. It's filled in for you when Stripe supports the country you're in.
  3. Click Connect Stripe. Stripe's form opens.
  4. Fill in your details and the bank account Stripe pays you into.
  5. When you finish, Stripe sends you back to the Payments page.

If you leave Stripe's form halfway, click Connect Stripe again with the same country. You carry on with the same Stripe account.

Get verified

The second step, Get verified, is Stripe checking your details. This sometimes takes a few hours. When Stripe turns on payments and payouts, the card shows Connected.

If Stripe needs anything else, a box Stripe needs more from you lists it. Payouts can pause until it's done. Click Open Stripe dashboard and give Stripe what it asks for. If the account isn't connected yet, click Connect Stripe again to go back to Stripe's form.

It's your own Stripe account

Marketsy opens a standard Stripe account that belongs to you. You can sign in to Stripe directly at any time. Buyers' money goes into that account, not to Marketsy.

The connected card shows the Country, the Fees ("Stripe's own fees. Marketsy adds none.") and the date it was Connected on. Click Open Stripe dashboard to see payments, payouts and your bank details. See Fees and When you get your money.

Stripe and PayPal together

You can connect PayPal too. With both connected, choose which one buyers see first under First at checkout on the Payments page. See Connect PayPal.

Use an account you linked before

If you run more than one store, you can reuse a Stripe account. On the new store's Payments page, under Or use an account you linked before, click Use this one.

Disconnect Stripe

  1. On the Stripe card, open ⋯ and click Disconnect Stripe.
  2. Confirm. Your store stops taking payments through Stripe.

Your Stripe account stays open, with its money and history. You can connect it again later.
