The Name and search page sets your store's name and how it looks in Google and in shared links. In your admin, go to Settings → Name and search.

Name and Google

FieldWhat it does
Store nameYour store's name. It can't be empty.
TitleThe title in Google for pages that don't have their own. When it's empty, the store name is used.
Added after titlesText added after each page's title, like your store's name.
DescriptionThe line under the title in Google. Keep it to about 160 characters: the counter shows how many you've used.

The In Google box shows how your store looks in search results as you type. When you change something, Save and Discard appear at the top. Click Save to keep your changes.

Changing the store name doesn't change your store's address. To change that, see Change your free marketsy.ai address. The name in your store's header is set separately, in Logo, menu and footer.

  • Icon: the small picture in the browser tab. 512×512 is best.
  • Picture for shared links: shown when someone shares a page that has no picture of its own, for example in a chat or on social media. 1200×630 is best.

Pictures must be under 5 MB. Each page and blog post can have its own picture and summary under Search and sharing.

Search engines

Your store has a sitemap: your store's address followed by /sitemap.xml. Click it under Search engines to copy it.

To add your store to Google:

  1. Add your store in Google Search Console.
  2. Choose to verify with an HTML tag, and copy the tag Google gives you.
  3. In your admin, go to Integrations → Custom code. Paste the tag in In the head of every page and save. See Add your own code.
  4. Back in Search Console, finish the check, then add your sitemap address.
