Change your store's design
Use the design editor to change your pages, colours and fonts. Changes go live on your store as you make them.
Open DesignOn this page
The design editor shows your real store and lets you change it in place. In your admin, go to Online store → Design. It opens full screen.
The top bar
| Part | What it does |

| Exit | Takes you back to your admin. |
| Page menu | Picks the page to edit: Home or one of your pages. |
| Desktop and phone buttons | Show the page at desktop or phone width. Check both before you finish. |
| Save status | When you change the theme: Saving…, then Saved · live on your store. If it says Not saved, click Try again. |
| View store | Opens the page on your store in a new tab. |
Sections and Theme
The panel on the left has two tabs.
Sections lists the parts of the page from top to bottom, between the Header and the Footer. Click a section to change it. You can also edit right on the page: hover over a section to see its toolbar. See Add and arrange sections and Logo, menu and footer.
Theme sets the look of the whole store, on every page:
| Setting | What it changes |
|---|---|
| Main colour | The colour of buttons and highlights. Pick a swatch, or + (Another colour) for any colour. |
| Background | Light or Dark, each with a few shades. |
| Fonts | The font pair for headings and text. There are 12 to pick from. |
| Corners | Square, Soft or Round buttons and cards. |
| Product cards | Standard, Tinted, Minimal or Lifted. |
| Ambient light | Pictures and buttons glow softly on the page. On or off. |
| Product pictures | The shape of product pictures: Portrait, Square, Landscape, Tall or Whole picture. |
Write text with AI
In a section's text box, click Ask AI, or press ⌘J on a Mac (Ctrl+J on Windows). It can improve, shorten, lengthen or fix the grammar of what you wrote, or write new text. Then choose Replace selection or Insert, Try again or Discard. Ask AI uses AI credits.
On a phone
Use the Sections and Theme buttons at the bottom of the screen. Click Done to close the panel.
