Write a blog
Write posts for your store's blog and publish them, or let SEOBot write posts for you.
Open BlogOn this page
A blog brings visitors from search and keeps your store fresh. Your blog lives at /blog on your store's address. New posts start as drafts that only you can see.
Write a post
- In your admin, go to Online store → Blog.
- Click New post. If you have no posts yet, click Write a post.
- Add a Title and a Summary. The summary is one line under the title, and on the blog's list of posts.
- Check the Publication date. It's today unless you change it, and it's the date shown on the post.
- Add a Cover picture, and fill in Search and sharing if you like.
- Click Save. The post shows in the list with a Draft pill.
- Click Edit. The post opens on your store in a new tab, and you write it there with sections, like any page. See Add and arrange sections.
Publish a post
Click Publish next to the Draft pill. Once you publish your first post, a Blog link appears in your store's menu, unless you've set your own menu links: then add a link to your blog yourself. See Logo, menu and footer.
Open the ⋯ menu next to a post for more:
- Hide from readers takes a published post down.
- Title, link and SEO changes the title, summary, date, link, picture and search settings.
- View post and Copy link.
- Delete removes the post and its link for good.
Posts written for you
SEOBot is an outside service, with its own account, that writes posts and publishes them to your blog.
- Under Posts written for you, click Turn on.
- Turn on Publish posts from SEOBot.
- Paste your SEOBot API key from your SEOBot account.
- Click Save.
SEOBot posts show an SEOBot pill. You change them in SEOBot (Edit in SEOBot), not in Marketsy. To change the setup later, click Settings under Posts written for you.
Blog settings
Under Blog settings, click Open settings. Set the Heading and the Line under the heading that show at the top of your blog, then click Save.
Each post also has its own Search and sharing settings. For your store's name and description in Google, see Store name, search and sharing.
Write to us in the chat. A real person on the Marketsy team answers, and you'll get the reply here and by email.
