Domain not working? Fix DNS and SSL

Most domain problems come from the DNS records. Work through these checks where you manage your domain, then choose Check again on the Domain page.

Records stay on Waiting

Marketsy looks up your domain and expects to find the exact IP shown on the Domain page. Check each of these:

• Type is A. The value is the IP on the Domain page. Use its copy button so no digit is wrong.
• Names are right. For yourstore.com: one record named @ and one named www. For a sub-domain like shop.yourstore.com: one record named shop.
• Nothing else answers for those names. Delete any other A records and any AAAA records for @ and www, or for your sub-domain. If www has a CNAME record, delete it and add the A record instead.
• No proxy. If your DNS goes through a proxy, like Cloudflare with the orange cloud on, the lookup finds the proxy's address instead of ours. Set these records to DNS only (grey cloud).
• Give it time. Changes can take up to an hour to show.

The page checks only when you open it or choose Check again. Come back after you change your records.

If you ticked It's a sub-domain but typed a domain like yourstore.com, the check stops and asks you to fix it. Untick the box, or type the full sub-domain.

SSL isn't added

SSL starts only when every record shows Found. If the SSL step says Not added yet, it also shows the reason.

• Fix any record problem above, then choose Check again.
• After a failed try, opening the page doesn't retry SSL for about 10 minutes. Check again retries at once.
• If the reason says it took too long, or couldn't reach the server that adds certificates, wait a few minutes and choose Check again.

Until SSL is done, you can't publish on your domain, and your store's links keep using the free marketsy.ai address.
